BMI Presents Composer/Director Roundtable and Snowball Showcase at Sundance 2015

Written by

Sundance Film FestivalBroadcast Music, Inc and Sundance Film Festival are presenting the 17th annual Composer/Director Roundtable during the 2015 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

This year’s Roundtable is entitled “Music & Film: The Creative Process,” and acts as an informative conversation and explorations of the role of music in film. Moderated by BMI Vice President of Film/TV Relations Doreen Ringer-Ross, the conversation will focus on the relationship between composer and director and will include panelists discussing creating a successful score, effective composer/director relationships and other relevant topics.

“We are proud to be so closely aligned with the Sundance Institute Film Music Program throughout the year, and we are committed to shining a light on our composers at the Sundance Film Festival because they provide an essential and deeply emotional element of filmmaking that is so subliminal that it often goes unnoticed and uncelebrated,” said Ringer-Ross in BMI’s announcement.

The Roundtable will be held at the Filmmaker Lodge from 4 pm to 6 pm on Tuesday, January 27th. One day later, January 28th, at 8 pm, BMI’s Snowball Showcase will take place at Sundance House Presented by HP.

Snowball will feature a diverse line up of talented BMI singer-songwriters including Christina Perri. Surprise artists will also be announced.

Both events demonstrate BMI’s focus on nurturing and sustaining relationships with emerging composers, as well as celebrating and promoting the value of music in film.

SongHunters Testimonials

  • "I'm one of the top Indie songwriter/producers in Canada with a catalog of over 250 songs. The SongHunters - Doug Diamond, Dave Weiss & Dave Hnatiuk, are always emailing me asking for submissions for their placement opportunities. They listen attentively to each of my submissions and end up getting me a synch license every so often - the last one with Airwalk Shoes. These guys are professional, helpful, and prompt with communication, working hard to get my music placed.  And they're nice guys too! Thanks SongHunters!"
