Billboard: Tinashe To Sound Drop With Pepsi

As we often note, music supervision's definition has expanded far beyond simply licensing songs to picture. Today, the field encompasses a wide range of activities, including matching music artists to brands.

Pepsi's music platform The Sound Drop is an excellent example of music supervision in motion. A partnership between the beverage brand with iHeartMedia, Shazam and Viacom, The Sound Drop was launched by Pepsi in 2016 to help artists "promote their story, share their art and connect directly with their fans."

The latest artist to get a boost from The Sound Drop is Tinashe, soon before the launch of her second album Joyride. She's part of a highly intensive 360 that sees Fox also joining the party, to help promote the hit series "Empire."
